The foundations of Kürüm Group were laid with the establishment of Kürüm Iron.
The founder and largest shareholder of the Group, Haşmet Bedii Kürüm, stepped into the sector by acquiring a rolling facility in Kocaeli-Gebze Industrial Zone. Thus hot-rolled construction steel production, as the main business of the Group, began.
The Balkans, which is among the rising values of the global economy, was selected as the target in the Group's expansion strategy. In line with the made decisions of investment, the largest integrated iron-steel plant of Balkans that is within the scope of Albanian privatization plan, was put into operation.
Kürüm Iron became number 495 in the list of "Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises", prepared by Istanbul Chamber of Industry after making an evaluation based on sales figures.
With the investments made in Albania, the production base of Kürüm in the Balkans, oxygen and lime facilities were also put into operation besides iron and steel. Moreover, Kosovo E Re (Kosovo E Re Insurance Company S.A.) was established by entering into a partnership with the Kosovo Government in line with a new overseas investment project. And after a short amount of time, Kürüm took over all shares of the Company upon the request of the Kosovo Government. Kürüm Iron ascended to number 372 in the list of "Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises", declared publicly by Istanbul Chamber of Industry.

Kürüm Iron ascended to number 233rd in the list of "Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises".
Kürüm Construction started its operations to make use of the synergy of the group and the knowledge of its sector.
Institutionalization efforts were speeded up. In this sense, the operations of the Group were gathered together under the umbrella of Kürüm Holding. Profile production has started in Albania under the organization of Kürüm International. BIMS block production facilities of Kürüm Construction in Diyarbakır, Turkey were put into operation. Kürüm Iron ascended to number 208 in the list of "Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises".
At the end of the capacity building efforts, the capacity of Kürüm Iron was increased to 444,600 tons and the capacity of Kürüm International was increased to 550,000 tons.
Kürüm Gelqere (Lime) began its operations under the organization of Kürüm International. Investment efforts were initiated to increase steel production to 420,000 tons/year. Kürüm Iron ascended to number 151 in the list of "Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises".
Kürüm Construction was handed over. Kürüm Iron reached a production amount of 297,445 tons with an increase of 2%. Kosovo E Re celebrated its 40th year in the insurance sector. In the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Kürüm International, the company bought the property of Elbasan Steel Production Facilities from Albanian Ministry of Privatization.
With fully renewing the rolling plant within the body of Kürüm International, the production capacity was increased to 450,000 tons. Thus the total rolling capacity of the facility has reached 700,000 tons/ year. Moreover, the company transferred scrap processing equipment from Germany to increase production and energy efficiency in Kürüm International's Albania Steel production facilities. Kürüm Iron increased its production by 30%.
Kürüm Iron and Kürüm International achieved significant improvements both in terms of production amount and turnover compared to the previous years. At the Elbasan facility of Kürüm International, "Scrap Processing" facility that will contribute significantly to production and energy efficiency was commissioned at the end of the year. Kürüm Iron ascended to number 137 in the list of "Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises".
Kürüm Holding initiated taking over processes after acquiring four hydroelectric power plants from Albanian government through privatization.</p>
